Branched Oak ObservatorySaturday, January 18, 2025 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Although closed for the season, we could not pass up this opportunity to open for an amazing planetary alignment.
Witness the universe like never before as a “Parade of the Planets” graces our night sky! Join us for an unforgettable evening of celestial wonders where nearly every planet in the Solar System makes a special appearance.
Highlights of the Night:
Planets Venus and Saturn will be in a dazzling conjunction early in the evening low in the Western sky. They will have just a little over 2 degrees of separation!
The beautiful Planet Jupiter, high in the sky, promises crystal-clear telescopic views.
Mars, the red planet, rising in the East, completes the naked-eye planetary panorama.
Even faint Uranus and Neptune will be visible through our powerful telescopes!
But the planets are only the beginning. Our telescopes will also unveil breathtaking deep-space treasures, including the radiant Great Orion Nebula and the incredible Andromeda Galaxy.
Don’t Miss the Conjunction! Arrive by 8:30 PM to catch Venus and Saturn before they set.
Important Note: This event is weather permitting. It also depends on the condition of our grounds. Be sure to check Branched Oak Observatory’s website and right here on Facebook for updates as the date approaches.
