Looking for something fascinating, inspiring, and completely FREE this summer? Mark your calendars now for the Summer STEM Colloquium Series at Branched Oak Observatory!
Originally developed to provide extended educational opportunities for our Summer Internship Program participants, we are excited to once open these presentations to the entire community. Thanks to the generous support of the NASA Nebraska Space Grant, everyone is invited to attend this unique series of engaging STEM programs free of charge.

Each Friday evening between July 3 and August 14, you’ll have the opportunity to hear from remarkable speakers representing a wide variety of scientific, technical, educational, and creative disciplines. Whether you’re a student, educator, science enthusiast, hobbyist, or simply someone who enjoys learning new things, there is truly a topic for everyone. Programs about Ham Radio, High-Powered Rocketry, Astronomy, and so much more promises exciting discussions, thought-provoking ideas, and opportunities to interact with experts who are passionate about sharing their knowledge.

Gather your friends, family, coworkers, and fellow science lovers and join us for an unforgettable summer of discovery. And the learning doesn’t have to end when the presentation is over! Following each colloquium, guests are invited to remain at the observatory for stargazing through our research-grade observatory telescopes, weather permitting. It’s the perfect opportunity to connect the evening’s STEM topic with a firsthand exploration of the universe above.
